Privacy policy

This policy explains what information FixiTriage ("we", "this site") collects when you visit, how it's used, and the choices you have. FixiTriage is a diagnostic reference for home and appliance problems. You don't need an account to read a guide.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting and server logs automatically record standard technical details when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, the page you came from, the pages you viewed, and the time of your visit. This is used to keep the site running, spot errors, and see which guides get read. It isn't used to identify you personally.

Cookies

This site uses cookies to keep basic functions working and, where display advertising is enabled, to serve and measure ads (described below). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; doing so may affect how well some features work.

Advertising and Google AdSense

FixiTriage is supported by Google AdSense display advertising. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, including the DoubleClick/DART cookie, and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits here and to other sites, and to measure ad performance. This falls under Google's own policies:

To opt out of personalized ads, visit Google's Ads Settings, or the industry opt-out tools at youradchoices.com and aboutads.info. Opting out changes how ads are targeted, it doesn't remove ads from the site.

Analytics

This site doesn't currently run a dedicated analytics platform. If one is added later, it will be set up to collect only aggregate, non-identifying usage data, and this policy will be updated to name the tool.

Contact and correction requests

If you email hello@fixitriage.com to report an error or ask a question, we keep that message only to respond to you or fix the guide in question. We don't add your address to a mailing list or share it with anyone else.

Your rights under GDPR (EEA and UK visitors)

If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, you can ask what data we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, and object to certain processing. Because this site only keeps standard server logs and doesn't build visitor profiles, there's typically very little personal data tied to any one person. Send requests to hello@fixitriage.com.

Your rights under CCPA (California visitors)

California residents can ask what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. FixiTriage doesn't sell personal information. Cookies set by Google and its advertising partners are covered by Google's disclosures above.

Children's privacy

This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Data retention and security

Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting purposes, then rotated out. We take reasonable steps to keep the site secure, though no website can guarantee complete security of stored or transmitted data.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy as the site changes or advertising arrangements change. The effective date above marks the latest revision. Using the site after a change means you accept the update.
