How to find your code
The code shows up on the dryer's display panel. Samsung's dryer code set is smaller than its washer lineup, but it still varies a little by model generation, so check your owner's manual if a code on your machine isn't in the table below. A note on airflow and heating issues
A dryer that isn't heating (HE) can sometimes trace back to the same restricted-airflow root cause as a blocked-vent code on other brands. It's worth checking the vent path even on a heating-specific code before assuming the heating element itself has failed, since a badly restricted vent can hold enough heat inside the drum that the thermal fuse trips and reads as a heating fault.
Before you call for service
A few basics apply no matter which code you're seeing. Power-cycle the dryer, unplug for about 60 seconds, then restart. Confirm the door is fully closed and latched. For 9C1 specifically, confirm the dryer has its own dedicated outlet and circuit rather than sharing power with another large appliance.
